the log message from the assertion failure (run journalctl), but it
looks likely to be this one.
When you say you removed "gstreamer", which packages do you mean?

After a fresh reboot and login the mouse cursor appears twice:
there is the "real" cursor moving and working and there is another one
that is fixed (not moving) but visible on the screen. This is after each
