On hold. I am waiting for Marco to finish work on some more general bugs
in the randr scaling patch: bug 1876894 (which probably also affects bug
1875285), bug 1874207, bug 1873052. When those fixes are done and he's
no longer working in the same area I will come back to this bug.

We would like to see the system log of a prior boot where the freeze
occurred. To do that please:
1. Reproduce the freeze again.
2. Reboot, log in and immediately run:
journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt
and then attach the resulting text file here.

** Package changed:
1. It sounds like there's a problem with the HDMI connection. Do you
only see problems on the HDMI display? Sounds like there's a problem
with the "GSM" (LG) display.
[ 647.719] (--) modeset(0): HDMI max TMDS frequency 225000KHz
[ 647.746] (WW) EDID timing clock 328.32 exceeds claimed max 175M
Moving to mutter. Because the cursor doesn't have the stutter and that's
moved by Xorg. The rest of the screen is rendered by mutter.

That suggests to me the ports are wired to the Nvidia GPU. But that's
not an excuse for this bug; it's still a bug.
The bug description at the top of this page currently says it doesn't
work in performance mode so please reword that if it is wrong.

Oh, also it could be worth trying if downgrading libinput back to the

it would rule out the problem being due to the update of another
