Thanks for the bug report. Your kernel log mentions some errors

You seem to be using FVWM and the old Intel driver (not the current
one). So I would try eliminating those as possible causes.
1. Does the bug also occur in Gnome Shell Xorg sessions? (log into
'Ubuntu')
2. Please edit or move or delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf so that Xorg does
not load the 'intel' dr

I have a Lenovo E585 w/ a Ryzen 5 2500U. I'm having the same issues,
horizontal screen tears, parts of a window showing up where they
shouldn't. It's mostly on Firefox, but happens when I view PDFs as well.
I'm getting different problems on Steam, there it's small colored
squares that flash on and

I have a workaround on linux(its not ideal).
On linux if i disable "disable while typing" and then disable "tap to

Public bug reported:
After updating from 19.04 to 19.10 I noted that some apps don't redraw
their window(s) correctly. Affected apps include (it seems) all Qt-
based apps (including KDE and VirtualBox), as well as
firefox/thunderbird.
Unaffected apps include emacs, chrome, xterm.
The symptom is
not an issue with recent releases and proprietary nvidia drivers.

click input and keep dancing between the menu pressed and non pressed
situation.
