Sometimes when doing clicking on something in GNOME (or Unity, in 14.04
(haven't tested Unity in 15.10)) like 'Activities' or an application
like Maps in the Applications section of Activities, or even 'Details'
in the GNOME Control Center (or simply clicking on the Unity Cont
Compiz is indeed running, but it is refusing to manage the window.
Looking at the Compiz code, there are only two ways that it will not
manage a newly created window:
"if (w->priv->serverFrame == event->xcreatewindow.window)"
and
"if (wa.root != event->xcreatewindow.parent)"

drivers and enabled SNA again. It looks as if it takes longer to crash
now, but eventually it does. Prior to the update it was easy for me the
reproduce a crash with LibreOffice Calc. That requires a bit more effort

maximizing libreoffice writer. Disabling SNA as suggested by Mark

#313 This doesn't help in my case. Literally whatever I tried did't help till
now. I'm testing the Win 10 Pro for the last two days, just to see if the same
thing will happen, and yes, it does happen even on Win 10. Freezes occur less
frequently, and are easily solvable by right then left button

When I plug in my SteelSeries SRW-S1 game wheel the mouse pointer is
constrained horizontally unless I use the wheel, which positions the
pointer in the horizontal plane as I steer
Same on Assus K555L with KDE, the problem stooped or at least occurs rarely
when ever you stop the turn of touch pad functionality on key enter form
synaptic touch pad set up in System Settings->Input Device->Touchpad->l.
Enable/Disable touch.

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 15.10, X.org crashes intermittently. The
screen will suddenly turn black, and after a few seconds, the LightDM
login screen appears. All unsaved work is lost of course.
A clean install of 15.10 did not help, the problem persists.
It happens absolute
On my system /usr/share/X11/xorg:conf:d/20-intel.conf did not exist.
Creating it with the following content solved the crashes:
me@host:/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d# cat 20-intel.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
Driver "Intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"

Crashes were consisten
