but now I have unity-control-center! :-)

I would add the one-line patch, but then every monitor event triggers
the "new monitor" signal since all previously known monitors are now
forgotten.

I'm having the same problem running 64 bit Ubuntu 14.04 nvidia 331.
Ctrl-Alt-F1 then Ctrl-Alt-F7 restores the mouse.

I'm downloading vivid-desktop-
so the original bug of the display resetting to NULL has *not* been
fixed in the latest git version.
I left it for a day, came back and the display was blank when I turned
on the projector.
I have applied Alexander's 1 line patch and I'm testing that now. But
the git version has *not* fixed the p

Has anyone tried 'fixing' the slow graphics on Ubuntu 14.10 on Intel
graphics hardware by upgrading to an pre-release version of Ubuntu
15.04? I might be tempted to swap from 14.10 to 15.04 Beta1 (released
Feb 26th) if it fixes the sluggish graphics performance.

After upgrading my system to Trusty (from precise) I noticed high CPU
loads in Xorg and render errors (Image attached). This occurred with all
the Nvidia proprietary drivers available through "Restricted Drivers".
This only happens on this machine with an old AGP GeForce Serie
This image shows one of the render glitches that happens when using the
proprietary nvidia driver on this machine.
