After resume from suspend, performance is very slow. Log out/in does
nothing, the only thing that fixes is a full reboot. Web browser very
slow to scroll, unity interface very sluggish, appears to be a graphics
issue. Performance is great until after suspend.

@Alberto - I followed the steps you gave above but the problem remains. It
has made no obvious difference after reboot: system hangs after login with
just the left hand monitor displaying an Ubuntu background.
