Vaclav Cermak, could you please be more specific when you state, "Live
uses Nouveau, which is useless in current state (surely for Blender)."?
One should be able to install the nvidia drivers in the live environment, log
out, and log back in and it would begin to use it. One may verify it's being
/var/log/syslog attached.

I am getting the same error since the update yesterday of ubuntu-
drivers-common on my Thinkpad T530. I have a dock with 2 DVI, 1 VGA
monitor hooked up. I also have one monitor hooked up via a display-port
to hdmi cable coming from the laptop itself. It is the dock based VGA
monitor that failed to

I tried Daamien's solution, but it did not work for me, I have a Toshiba
Satelite P205D-S7438, Athlon X2, ATI Radeon, Still using Ubuntu un-updated
untill it's fixed. Any other work around suggestions?

is a derivative of other ideas proposed by Ubuntu Multiseat team
members.
When that "master-of-seat" concept was introduced in systemd, Lennart
Poettering suggested that a suitable udev rule should be included in
upstream NIV

I have tested today's 14.10 both on a virtual machine and using a Live
CD.

Lightdm update=No desktop
To m
BIOS update didn't help. I worked with Blender, and it freezed. I
switched to terminal (sometimes it freezes whole computer, this was not
this case) and killed X server manually. In X log is the same error as
before.
