This doesn't occur every single time I try to open the website, but
fairly consistently on the first instance after starting the computer.
(After one xserver crash it usually works the second time.) I'm using
the pipelight plugin to enable the Windows Flash player (since most
With Christopher's packages, I still find this happening occasionally in
Firefox (flickering between the old and new content after scrolling),
apparently when free memory is low. I'm not sure I can replicate it
consistently.

The full workaround sequence is the one I posted in the updated
description, not the comments. (There's no such package as just
"nouveau", so sudo apt-get remove nouveau won't do anything, and the
drivers dialog does a remove not the here-required purge.)

Hi,
this happens still in Trusty with all updates (todate: 13.07.2014, 20:00) and
kvm is unusable with this. We wanted to use kvm instead of virtualbox/vmware
but with this, you can forget that.
Why on Earth is it a wontfix?

For what it is worth - I have been through **almost** all of v304
(nvidia-current from USC) to latest xorg-edgers - in the end, here is
the only currently working option for me, pseudo-code;
purge-ppa ppa:xorg-edgers # purged the mesa libraries mentioned above among
other things.
apt-get purge
God knows why this was set to "Fix Released". Bug is clearly still
present, nearly three years after the bug was first reported.

suffice: Had to additionally add "blacklist nouveau" to

I happen to have a mainline 3.15.5 installed which includes the patches
of .14.12. I just tried it again, same results...
