to help. I suspect the reason this bug is no longer getting attention
is that the devs looked at it months ago and since the bug as described
(custom shortcuts not working) was no longer showing itself they have
lost interest

Hello, i got the same error after log into my brandnew installed ubuntu 14.04.
It was the second time installing the system
with no error at the first installation.
The difference lies in activating the SATA-AHCI-BIOS-option for my hdd at the
second installation. Switching it back no error
appear

Graphics card is Radeon HD 6770. X.Org drivers. Clean install, video
works but color depth is < 24bpp. I tried adding DefaultDepth parameter
on xorg.conf, it caused screen to freeze on bootup
The bug has been solved, I reset the size screen from the screen menu. I
shut down every thing, I unpluged everything, AC, VGA, the Graphic Card,
and then I repluged everything, I restarted the PC ... Then the PC
recognized the screen "Samsung Electronics", and its original resolution

Actually, i want to add this : when i pause the computer (notebook)
ubuntu (gnome-classic) closes the user session, because i hear the sound
of a new session requested with password.
