Hello.
I would like to provide testing for this bug if possible but I'm not
exactly clued up on compiling xorg-server from scratch. I figure it
could be useful to have a none-standard (ie not a laptop or tablet
device) low-end hardware test case but if it's unlikely to b

I have just made an embarrassing discovery.
I replaced the mouse and solved the problem. Sure wish I had thought of
that earlier, it would have saved a lot of trouble.
It is very bizarre for a new mouse to intermittently send a double click
signal for a physical single click.

(beta) driver 319.17 running, however with no screen output in X.

startx and kill the process or is there more to it? I would be glad to

There is an easy way around this -- rename (or even delete) the file
/etc/ati/atiapfuser.blb. From my research this is a "user profile" which
doesn't seem to be utilized, at least in my case. When that files exist,
you will see LOTS of entries like:

yesterday I received xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.21.6+git20130514 for
quantal branch, which is used by Mint 14. Raring packages seemed to be
released earlier, which explains why I couldn't see the updates.
Apart from this: SNA acceleration is working again with this version.
