One day the Update Manager suggested I update to the latest version of ubuntu,
which I did.
It is called 12.04 Precis. After that my sound output stutters badly.

Well problem is that Xorg crashes while i'm trying to log in as normal
user, but I can still startx as root and everything works fine.
I have been changing my drivers lately to AMD proprietary and back in
order to get Steam beta function.
Crash occurs after initializing "glx
I can also confirm that the workaround in Comment #71 fixes this bug,
even if you increase and decrease brightness very aggressively. Thank
you very much SPARX!
Hopefully this can now be fixed without the need for this workaround,
but this will do for now.

I have added the kernel-bug-exists-upstream tag, since testing with
Fedora 18 showed the same behaviour, so this seems to be an upstream
