Nick's PPA did sovled my low-graphic problem on a HP laptop (I7/6770M)
for ubuntu 12.10/amd64
However there are 2 steps must to be taken, or-else still low-graphic(
segmentation fault shown in Xorg.0.log):
1. run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure Xorg" before reboot
2. when linux kernel is 3.7 or higher,
[Expired for xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) because there has been no
activity for 60 days.]

Could this be put or backported to 10.04? Couse so old comp can have
only with gnome. And since 10.04 is LTS then it still has support for
few months.

I have updated the bios to 2.07
(The bios have no new settings according to any pointing device, and I hove not
noticed any new settings)
After couple restarts the mouse seams OK... but I haven't use it for more then
couple minutes yet.
I'll post my further experience later.

The component field of this report says Radeon. It's unlikely for fglrx
and radeon to be affected by one and the same bug. It's possible that
fglrx has a similar bug though.
@Brian: As per my comment #590 i tried the Quantal 3.5 kernel from the
precise repo, and it did not help.
I have also given a fresh install of Quantal with its stock 3.5 kernel a
go on a spare drive I had lying around, and within 20mins of playing a
video in XBMC, hard lock.
