I have an update on this bug.
For Bug (2) (See bug description: The graphics starts out in interlaced mode if
I use Gateway EV700 CRT monitor with it), I will report that this is a
regression.
When I tested SiS 661GX integrated graphcis (SiS Mirage 1 integrated graphics)
with Ubuntu 11.10,
Ok, For those of you new here:
This bug is about a complete system lock-up. No other TTYs can be
started. Mouse doesn't move. Keyboard doesn't react. The only solution
is hard reset.
Seems to happen on a variety of configurations, including nVidia, ATI
and Intel graphics.
If you are still able
For me, lots of time it freezes totally (keyboard lights blink, no mouse, no
keyboard, no ssh)
while working with just firefox,
I don't use chrome, no compiz, and no unity.

it and pluged it in, it seemed to be dead as not even the numlock key
would come on. So I ordered a newer wireless mouse and keyboard combo to
replace it. Now the wireless mouse will randomly just stop work
Yeah, for me its compiz that freezes, and I can control alt F1 then
pkill -9 compiz that usually works and compiz restarts ok, occasionally
it wont and I sudo reboot.

reinstall. Also sort for ranting. Just frustratesd. Already been through 3 days
of this for my sta driver. Gag.
When I reinstall I'll try additional drivers for fglrx. When that doesn't work
I'll try your ppa. After th
Ranting apart, there are steps you need to do to bring your system in
a stable situation, removing the external PPAs.
If you open synaptic, you go (lower left) to Origins and you see all
the LP-PPA enabled.
Check all of them and make sure that you have nothing related to X
server/intel/fglrx insta
fpgahardwareengineer, could you please test for this problem in a Natty
live environment via http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/natty/ ?

or two, since May. And somehow this is marked as "Won't Fix"?
How asinine is that?
It isn't as if there's a workaround for this issue. It isn't as if the

tried uninstalling and reinstalling some things, are you sure your
version of xserver//intel works with my intel 3000 card? I dont know why
i cant use switcheroo anymore, i tried your 7 steps again a couple of
times, but i cant get past the low graphics warning, and now i cant get
back to the intel
