Hi, I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but just in case...
I discovered I had 2 instances of "syndaemon" running all the time. Once
I got rid of the instance that was started up from my "autostart"
folder, all seems to work ok.
I had added it to that folder myself a couple releases back but
Issue still there on quantal with nvidia 304.51 (log out issues).
I've reproduced on Gnome with compiz and LXDE with metacity and openbox.

Latest update for 12.04 solves the problem. Also, I just upgraded to

Just bought this laptop. Making network boot the first option does not
prevent freezes.
None of the workarounds offered for this bug seem to be working on the

processor and Radeon 6850 graphic card.
Either fglrx or fglrx-update open a session without Unity : no launcher, no
