I'm still suffering from this problem with -27. X freezes for me once
every 2-3 days. The symptons are as you describe. It seems to be a
regression from 11.10.

With the latest kernel update 3.2.0.27.29 the problems seems mostly
fixed. If you boot the computer with the svideo cable attached then the
tv is recognized and a display appears. Awesome!!! No more booting to
Windows for watching a movie on my tv (Always proof for my buddies that
linux sucked...)

Mouse-wheel scrolling backwards
As of today (2012-07-24) my mouse is still reverse-scrolling in Firefox
Aurora, LibreOffice, Evince, and a bunch of other apps, but is scrolling
correctly in Gedit and Nautilus. Hope this helps. :)

I have just confirmed that beta driver 304.22 (installed via the
upubuntu ppa) does not fix the problem. It has interesting effects,
though. It apparently caused the sound to drop out on youtube (this had

I had the same problems, even with the latest nvidia beta drivers. Tried
everything, but what solved it was simple: not using Chrome. I'm
currently typing this on Firefox and i'm finally crash-free for 2 hours
