Disabling ACPI didn't help. Using an older kernel (the 2.6.32-22 linked
above) the computer works correctly, without freezing just because it is

A sure-fire way to freeze the machine is to use Rawstudio on my 12MB
NEF-files, and quicksave them to JPG. Then the machine freezes after 1-3
tries.
