I was updating the system. Is the second time that this happens but this

Just checked again on my Aspire 5100 (same machine referenced in
comments above) a fully updated Lucid x86. Machine booted and ran
cleanly, but after resume from suspend-to-ram the screen flickered very
badly, to the point that it was hard to reboot it using the dialog.
