Er, nevermind that comment of mine... Turns out it the general problem
was with pulseaudio, not the Intel driver. Aside from the odd glxgears
framerate slowdown, everything is fine, maybe even a bit faster than in
9.04.

Using the command "xset b [volume] [pitch] [duration]", I've found that
adjusting the first value does not adjust the volume at all, only the
duration. The third argument also adjusts the duration.

What I meant to say about the code being reused for all radeon drivers:
Just because there is a bug in one that keeps the ref count artificially
high, does not mean it is a bug for all of the drivers. Whatever was
keeping it high should be fixed. This while loop is too drastic.

I was getting this crash in UrbanTerror. It only happens WITHOUT KMS on
(radeon.modeset=0). I made this change and it works for me:

I use a dual setup on Radeon HD 3470 / kubuntu and I have this problem.
workaround by Jean-Paul did not work for me.
last time i got so irritated by it, that I rebooted, and that did the trick for
me.

It seems pretty clear that the problem is that arandr, gnome-display-
properties et. al. are requesting display sizes that are bigger than the
maximum texture size that can be supported by the i945gme chipset. The
problem really needs to be fixed in at least two places though, the
tools shouldn't r
I gave up in the end and have moved to a TOSHIBA PA3705D media keyboard with
integrated mouse pad. Despite other reviews hating it, I am very pleased
with it as it works great in both ubuntu 9.10 & XP. Not as good as the
scroll point for precision stuff but great.
