Andy, due to the lack of comparable ATI-hardware, I can't try to
reproduce this rendering corruption you show in the screenshots. I've
only intel and nvidia hardware here and on thoese notify-osd renders the
bubbles just fine. Since you mention that you're seeing also rendering

same test web page using Firefox under wine. I have not tried other

My touchpad has the following features: horizontal and vertical scrolling,

even boot on my machine.
In any case, I strongly recommend full system backups. RIPLinux9,3 is
great for backups and repairing Linux systems.

I have the brightness issues on Karmic with kms as well with a Samsung
x360 laptop.
/sys/class/backlight/... is populated and looks okay, but there is no
visible change in brightness when altering the values. Booting the
kernel with 'nomodeset' makes brightness work again.

My problem with nvidia is the settings are stuck with main screen on
separate x screen twin veiw etc greyed out. When loading Nvidia-settings

Timo, did you test the packages yourself on tablet hardware? I also
subscribed Alberto, I think he also knows about tablets.
The changelog looks appropriate, I just can't decipher what "Updated
wacom_wac.c" is supposed to mean?
On how much hardware was this tested?

I was also affected by this bug on a dual-boot WinXP/Ubuntu 9.04 machine
after a clean install using a Geforce4 Ti 4200 (64MB) and a Dell1907FP
LCD monitor over VGA. For me, the shut down icon at the top right was
cut
Well.. is this bug publicly visible? I'm new here so I don't know how
it works, but it seems that this is common problem with Ubuntu+nVidia
mobile (acording to ubuntuforums and launchpad).
#85451 looks pretty similar to this one.
#377120 is the same issue, but there is no solution or activity.
