I've been wasintg a huge amount of time with this bug. I have now got a
PCI-Express Card and can finally actually boot my computer (and after

My track pad does not behave differently clicking bottom left to
clicking bottom right (there are separate right and left click buttons
below the trackpad). Prior to the upgrade, tapping the track pad
generated a 'right handed left button click' regardless of whether the
mouse was set left handed

problem is gone. I don't know if it was fixed by an update or something

After removing /etc/hal/fdi/policy/11-x11-synaptics.fdi and rebooting
the touchpad tab is still available in mouse settings - also tapping still
works.
I just doublechecked with a daily-live CD and that tab normally isn't
there.

If you select "left-handed", tap-to-click will trigger a right button event
(instead of the usual left button) while, if you tap on the bottom right area
of your touchpad, you will get a left button event.

Same issue here on a MSI Wind U100 with 945GME as DjDarkman describes it
The osd brightness keeps shifting up and down - if I tune it down with my
laptop key, it stops.
also the lcd brightness switches between levels (flickering)

Moving to X11. The repeating part does not seem to be Kubuntu specific,
as per comments, plus I would find it weird to be caused by KDE.
Anyway, since it is apparently fixable via xorg.conf let's just assume
it is fixable for real in x11. The fact that some keys are not bound to
actions in Kubuntu
