remote. We would highly appreciate, if this bug could also be fixed in
Hardy LTS

Not only did that not fix the touchpad problem, when I rebooted I discovered
that Ubuntu will not even boot up. It appears that a new kernal was
installed and gnome seems to start but I only get the command line. Now I
have to reinstall ubuntu just to get it to work.

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings
In Karmic, I seem to be having troubles with the Hue setting. At first
it was defaulted to -1000 (rather than Jaunty's 0), resulting in blue-
green people when watching videos. When I manually reset it to 0 the
video looks fine, however

Karmic
I just remembered that I have a modified xorg.conf file. I have changed
my AccelMethod to UXA (Ubuntu Juanty 64 bit). This was because under the
default setting, the terminals in gnome were unusable for me as the
scrolling speed was too slow. Using UXA the terminals are normal and
much faster.

As I have provided what I think is a full backtrace

I noticed a vital clue which I missed before.
My mouse is responsive, but no clicks are registered (as if I never
clicked), I can move the mouse around the screen. The keyboard is
unresponsive apart from sys-req. I did not think to check the caps lock
led. I will do this next time the crash happen

António, for measuring power draw on a notebook try 'powertop' or right click
the power icon in the notification area for 'Power History'. 'cat
/proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state' could work too, but the path might have changed
since I last used it (can't test).
