If everything works fine in Karmic, I don't think there is much we can
do. It is likely that there are some old configuration files lying
around causing the problems. You may test a Jaunty LiveCD to find out if
this is the case. If it works fine with that, there is probably some old

I tried the 9.10 Live-CD but didn't install. Resolution is OK and
System>Preferences>Display shows everything as normal: monitor is Laptop

hasn't yet been fixed in karmic daily releases.

It seems that firefox-3.5 might not be the culprit. Same problem with
opera also.
My guess is that after sleep something is going wrong with xserver and
networking applications.

I am using kubuntu karmic and seeing one issue of high cpu usage after
*suspend to ram*.
On resuming from sleep. CPU usage remained high for application xorg,
firefox-3.5, kmail and ktorrent for about 15 minutes.
Total usage was about 66 % . After this cpu usage fell back to normal levels.

Hi Jacob, upstream has confirmed the issue fixed now. It would be nice
to have your testing input but lacking that I guess we can assume it is
also fixed in ubuntu. Thanks again.

[i845G] glxgears output
On the live CD the username is ubuntu and there is no password just
press enter when it asks for one. Im having the same problem. Below is
the lspci -vvnn from my graphics card in 9.04 if it helps fix this bug.

The fix is not in karmic unfortunately. It was fixed just recently on
xserver master (what will be 1.7).
