when I trying to install the privative hardware driver fglrx for my ati radeon
3200, there was a problem installing the package, previosly I installed other
driver, and it seem work correctly but is not on the list of privative drivers.
Im using ubuntu intrepid 8.10 and
I've tried the Karmic 9.10 alpha 3 (liveCD only) today and the system
loads up with the black screen and only the cursor arrow visible. The

i845 was able to install karmic A3 from grub screen install choice since
it doesn't use normal gnome desktop. Any attempt at booting the
installed image gets a brown screen after login. Booting in recovery
mode goes to the recovery mode choices, then continuing boot results in
brown screen after

ATI X1250 Flickering Bug for Jaunty
I am using HP6715B which have a ATI X1250 video card. Which I was using
Intrepid 8.10 AMD64 which worked fine with restricted drivers. Then I
tried Jaunty AMD64 as soon as it released which caused me a nightmare of
flickering. Installing gdesklets made my flicke
catalyst 9.7 doenst' work either...
that's really getting annoying - amd doesn't do anything for months...
are there any chances that this issue might be fixed? or is it too unimportant?

respond to tapping that allows the touchpad to be used for left-button
clicking. The physical buttons work fine.

This has been fixed by the commit below which was included in
v2.6.31-rc1. This formed the base of the 2.6.31-1.13 ubuntu kernel.
Therefore I am marking this Fix Released for karmic.

The hal support for smartdimmer isn't going away anytime soon, so for
these platforms it's perhaps possible to add back the gnome-power-
manager support for it. That's why there is a gnome-power-manager task
here.
But I see no chance of devkit-power ever getting support for
smartdimmer. The entire
Adding xorg task, where the support should land according to David
Zeuten, Richard Hughes, and Kay Sievers (see
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/devkit-
devel/2009-July/000268.html). Once xbacklight covers these platforms,
g-p-m/KDE etc. should "just work".

It's with a Samsung Q35 with VGA Output. Before I used Gentoo and I didn't have
any problems connecting the external monitor.
In the beginning it works, just after a while it starts flashing every few
minutes until finally the monitor becomes black. I can still switch to TTY1 to
reboot the syste
