Most configuration is now done for x.org with hal, which is why a lot of
the options in your old x.org config file have been commented out. Look
in /etc/hal/fdi/policy to see if there are any files relating to the
wacom tablet. It may be named 10-linuxwacom.fdi, or something similar.

Actually when I lived in the Outer Hebrides, on Lewis in particular, the
people were quite IT literate, and in Ness, at the very north of the
island there was a Linux Centre.

I have just done a fresh install of Jaunty on my netbook, and began my

Must have been a mirror issue, as I just switched to update from the
main ubuntu repositories, instead of the GB repositories and it has
installed fine.
