Just wondering if anyone would like to recommend any particular USB
dongle internet hardware/services in the UK? I'm expecting to use it
quite a bit for short periods, but only in the UK. Obviously it needs
to be usable with Ubuntu!
Thanks,
Adam

Most Huaw
Hi Adam,
I have used an android smartphone as a wifi hotspot with no problems with
ubuntu (from 10.04). Most dongles should work with it anyway. From my very
limited experience the huawei ones work right out of the box, it is just a

I've used an Android device with no issues, but I've also had some success
with the Huwei USB dongles - both from 3 and O2.
I think 3 are pretty good from a data plan rate...

I also had a period from 10.04 alpha2 of dark days with my 3g dongle, it
works fine now :)
I think the best advice has already been given. Take the laptop into the
shop & say that if it works, you'll consider buying it. As also mentioned,
yup - when I do new installs the system recognises it as '3
