Dear Ubuntu UK;
I have lost my most fantastic distro of
Ubuntu that I have ever put together. Over 150 working apps. Everysingle
thing up to date and I was running Ubuntu 8.04 and the overall size of
my lost Ubuntu OS. was 42.3gb so as you can imagine I am quite upset

To try and address your original problem:
Do you get any errors displayed when your screen scrambles?
Try dropping to a terminal by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1
Log in
Type in tail -n50 /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Look for any lines that start (EE)

Can anyone recommend/suggest a webcam that can be clipped to the top of
my laptop that will work out of the box on Jaunty? I'd want to use it
with Skype.

All seems sorted now - thanks for the help.
I am so tired I can't remember what I did to fix it, but yesterday
evening the wireless popped up and I now have a wonderfully efficient
Jaunty Laptop!!

I managed to install the virtualbox on my laptop. I have got it to work,
and its updated ok. The only thing is at the moment, the size of the
window is really small, only about the size of a netbook. I have tried
everything to get it bigger, and nothing is working. Is there a way to
increase th

Does anyone know how I can install the MS Font Monotype Corsiva? It
doesn't seem to have been installed using the MS Core Fonts installer,
and my wife, whose company laptop has this font as default sends me docs
that don't /quite/ render properly because of this.
