we had to use edgy since dapper is still very weak in mult-media codecs on 64 bit. for w32codes, we had to use some packages from Christian Marillat which work very well. thus, using debian "unstable" which proved very stable. however, even on debian sid the mysql works. on the edgy 64 bit it
