Nope still nothing works. Mp3 files work fine. Its just the audio in

I had to reinstall xubuntu after a system failure. I am running xubuntu
12.10.
The problem is when I am playing videos in youtube, i hear the
sound absolutely fine however if there is any speech in the same video it
is distorted.

As you all know i recently bought a SATA hard drive enclosure for my hard
drives from my Ubuntu system. This was in formatted in EXT3/4 filesystem.
I still have some videos on there in .avi format but i know the xbox360
doesnt play nice with EXT.
Does anyone have a workaround?
