Have you taken a look at the documentation on the transmission wiki?

Well in that case then the Gimp is your answer. Have a look at the
documentation on their site about the clone tool and healing tool

Be aware virtualising the machine might not solve the blue screen issue.
You might just end up converting a broken laptop into a virtual broken
laptop.

It would also appear that the paid for version will cost more for less
space than dropbox. It will be interesting if the additional ubuntu
specific features will make up for this.

You could use VNC, SSH or similar to remote into the tower box

Another option is to ditch the xbox and get something like the popcorn
hour (http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/) which as an optional
wireless dongle. It also supports full HD so you could fit a hard drive
into it and copy over HD from the network to play - although obviously
coping over t
XBMC has a web page built into it that can be used as a remote. So you
could connect your android to the wirless network and then use that to
control the xbox. I haven't used this for a long time though as it was a
bit rubbish - the official xbox remote was much better.
I don't know about Gmote
Have you considered using Virtualbox or similar? Virtulization is a
great way of running an XP install for thing likes Sage and Word and you
won't have to muck about with Grub.
