Interesting topic since I'm vaguely looking into buying a Linux

I can remember IP (v4) addys better than I can remember my own mobile
number (even though I've had the same phone number for 10 years - I
think the dots in the IP help :p) I can't see me remembering IPv6 addys

I've been using Freedom2Surf ADSL for a couple of years. I signed up
before they were bought by Pipex and started imposing bandwidth limits.
I could 'upgrade' to an 8 meg connection but it would be
bandwidth-limited during peak-time in the small print so I stick to my 2

You can run Azureus without the GUI, which saves on a lot of resources.

Thanks for the links guys. There's some interesting reading to get me
started. My MP is/was(?) one of the education big-wigs in his party so
the school stuff is particularly useful. I'll have to have a dig about
to see if he's already involved :)

Is there a website/doc on the interwebs from which I can grab useful
links to include in an email my MP to ask him about his use/make him
aware of FLOSS? If not, does anybody have suggestions for links that I
can point him to?
Cheers,

I hear ya!
I've converted a lot of people to Linux just from them sitting and
watching me use Kubuntu with Beryl on a 4 year old desktop.
"Yeah, my desktop struggles with Vista too"...
(Spins cube).
"No, this isn't Vista"
(Spins cube some more+transparent stuff).
"Yeah, from 2004, Athlon XP"
