seemed determined that I needed a new hard drive, yet somebody I knew

I fell into this trap with Openshot, the PPA messes all kinds of stuff
up, I can't remember how I fixed it, but it did involve uninstalling
OpenShot. I remember tryig to play the Original Godzilla when it
happened. I was sad :(
I don't think the .deb messes with the shizzle, but I wouldn't try it.

Hi guys, I subscribe to the list but don't often post as I have few problems
with my setup but not enough experience to answer the types of questions
that generally come up. That said my google-fu has failed me and I hope one
of you guys can help me out.

Many thanks for the very useful replies regarding upgrading the server.
With regards to the "crash", I've just had a chance to get into the server room
and investigate. When I turned on the monitor, it just displayed a "No Signal
Input" message, though the green light was on on the box itself.

Although there have been several updates for it... Don't know if they're new
development updates, or just ones we never got which have been integrated
back in to the system? Sorry that made no sense, it's too early :P

I am currently running a server with Hardy Heron 8.04. Is it advisable
to upgrade to Ubuntu Server Edition 9.10 (Karmic Koala)? Is the upgrade
a fairly straightforward procedure?
Another question: The server occasionally crashes, but though I cannot
connect to the web server it is runni

However, a question for those of you in the know.
