A quick look at iTunes 8 (which is needed to sync iPod touches) in the wine appdb comes up with http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=14793 . Unfortuantly the reporter says that syncing with iPhones doesn't work, so I'm also guessing that iPod touches won't either.

Thanks for the info folks. I have an iPod Classic and use Amarok 1.4.x which is awesome. Shame Amarok won't work with the iTouch. Ok, what about running iTunes with WINE, would that work? Or must it be a VM? I don't mind setting all these things up for the guy, but if just one thing happens,

Sorry, I'm afraid not. The iPod touch firmware is encrypted in such a way that it is very hard to get into it in the first place. I'm not aware of any way of getting any library but iTunes to work. If anything did work, it would have to be through windows (and I'd be delighted to hear about
