Have you tried nvtv?
I did give it a quick try on my PC but my video card hasn't got TV out
(I use DVI to connect the PC to the TV).

I tried gksu nvidia-settings and set it up with the TV as a clone of the
monitor, logged out and then logged back in again, but now I only have
the display on the TV and not on the monitor, and in black and white only.

Usually it's in System Admin - you should be able to run it from
terminal - gksu nvidia-settings
I did use to need to add the PAL or PAL/I option to xorg.

From the same PC, which already had Ubuntu 7.10 installed, when I boot
into that old Ubuntu installation, I cannot find any option for the
Nvidia control panel like I can in Mythbuntu. I want to test TV out in
Ubuntu to find out if that will give a colour or black and white output

I used one very successfully on 8.04 (eee version) on my 702 with no
problems.
I installed the latest network manager (0.7) on 8.04 and this has the
built in broadband modem support so it was just a matter of selecting it
and say connect.

Generally they just work, I have seen people using the Vodafone ones with
them. If it doesn't work Out of the box, Vodafone have produced a GPL'd tool
to use them with. I had a 3 Huawei E220, which worked perfectly.

Hi all,
I'm getting an Eee PC 901 which should be delivered tomorrow and I plan
to install ubuntu-eee on it as soon as it arrives.
Have any of you guys managed to get a Mobile Broadband USB modem such as
Vodafones's [1] set up on an Eee PC and if so how?
Also, are there any important things I ne
I cannot find any option for PAL or NTSC. There is also nothing listed in the
xorg.conf mentioning NTSC or PAL.
I also tried different cables, and different s-video to scart adapters.

Thanks to everybody who replied offering advice on installing Ubuntu on the

I'll have a go over the weekend and if I encounter ant insurmountable (for me)
problems you'll probably hear about them here!

Hi,
As I previously mentioned [0], I'll be stepping down from stewardship
of the good ship Ubuntu UK LoCo at the end of November.
The first part of the process starts now, which is where we identify
those individuals who would like to be considered for the role. Once
this process is over, startin

Sounds to me like it's set to NTSC rather than PAL. You'll need to
either set it to PAL or PAL/I.
I'm sure there should be something on the NVidia control panel.

Its not daunting at all follow the eeepc version of Ubuntu as I did and you
will have a working version with all your stuff working. The route you
should follow is on the Acer Aspire forum. Only problem I had was FF3
freezing but once again follow the instructions on the forum to remedy that
