having exactly the same problem here - requires fast fingers! either using
the physical button on the drive or "ejecting" on the icon has the same
effect - disk comes out and shoots straight back in again - comedy dvd
drives!

Sounds like what I experienced. I found that using the 'Safe' Video
Mode (vesa driver) worked okay albeit slow.

Hi John,
You can downgrade the packages to return to 8.04, but it's much easier
(and more reliable - what if you miss a package?) to re-install.
