Can anybody recommend a good e-book reader for .lit,txt,htm,pdf (.lit
not so important).
I have tried FBReader but it doesn't want to see any files in the Books
directory, even though I use it on my EEE fine.

Yeah, in the manual for the motherboard there will be a map (it's like being
in the back and beyond!) which tells you where everything goes.
