Trial and error! I've used lots of Linux distributions and apps just by
installing, testing, then removing. You'll find what suits you
eventually I think. :) Just take time! Also I check on forums and google
reviews of software.

On holiday in Zambia I came across an Internet cafe converting to
Ubuntu. It is the Kilimanjaro cafe at the Manda Hill shopping centre.
If any of you ever go to the country, please use it. They were set up
for wireless access, too.
(My wife is Zambian hence my visit.)
