A search box to find a specific package would be nice.
A search box on the first page to find a specific string
would ease the job of reviewing/bughunting tremendously.

Once the main install process would be finished, after
reboot, an post-install script could search for those
lang-packs either on network, internet or on a second
extra-langpack-CD. This way the user shouldn't be exposed to
any foreign gibberish ;-)

that we'd use different words for telephoning
depending on the carrier used (I'm AT&T-ing someone...).
Would it be inconvenient to at least add some context to the
strings, or even review the original phrases ?

Same here in icelandic is_IS, the page is in english.
Some weeks ago I tested the same kind of start-page at
<http://l10n.ubuntu.tla.ro/startpage-10.04/Google/index.html.is>
where icelandic is well present, what's different this time?

I think that small translation teams would appreciate such a
list, so they could focus on finishing a certain product.
