Hi,
As part of this development cycle in Launchpad, we are deploying a
performance improvement in Launchpad Translations that should fix most
of the timeouts that you have been experiencing.
Our current testing is showing a wonderful improvement. However we would
like to ask you for some input o

Hello,
Gutsy translation delays
When Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) is released, some packages may not have the
most recent translations. This only affects translations made in
external tools that are then imported into Launchpad.
The delay is caused by a temporary lack of capacity
as
a big delay due to performance problems in our side so you will not have
your translations upload imported in time.
Cheers.

Indeed, asking for a comment clarifying the string is a good idea.

Right now, we have a small problem to deploy such updtes, we are working
on it and we expect to get it working soon (for all supported Ubuntu
releases).

I just talked with Martin Pitt, who maintains those packages and seems
like he had some practical problems.
We just planned to do a full language pack for gutsy next Monday and

translations for those templates, they were not imported

y, but
due the delay the import queue introduces, I recommend you to upload any
.po file want included in Feisty, before 18:00 UTC. Translations done
using the web UI are applied without delays, so you can keep working
until 23:00 UTC.

he English string has been removed from the template, in which
case, you don't see the translations either, but they remain there to be
used in our translation memory database.
If you still think this happened, could you point me to a concrete

evious email, we are trying to improve the cooperation
with upstream (either it being GNOME, KDE, Debian or any other project)
but it's impossible to have everything perfect from the beginning. It's
just a matter of time to finish the implementation of the missing parts
of the puzzle.
at coordination from Ubuntu with upstream not using Launchpad
directly is not perfect, but as Sebastian already pointed, we are
working hard to improve it every day.
