d) compile hardy's dovecot from source on dapper, and upgrade it

I think we need to wait until lsb is patched and uploaded to start

That's why that profile is not loaded by default, just added for enabling it by
hand when user want's to, the default profile is Postfix, which allows port 25,
because that's the default opened port in an out-of-the-box instalation.
Port number for TLS was taken from /usr/share/doc/postfix/TLS_RE
That's what is happening here, the profile "Postfix" it's what is being
enable, you also have Postfix Secure which is configured but not being
used, the idea of that is that i don't need to configure the rules by
port, but by service.

Closing this bug. It's NOT a bug, just a complain. The subject says: "I
don't know what password i'm asked and why is it asking me a password if
it is a synaptic package. aren't they free?" You can imagine the rest of
the report

Can't reproduce the bug, can you please post your sources.list? for what
i understand it can be an issue with the repository you are using, but
since i'm not an italian speaker, i'm almost guessing (spanish is not
that different so i understand something). Marking as incomplete.

Yes, as i suspected the issue was with the repositories, sometimes when
they are syncing with the principal archive or generating the
Packages.gz/Sources.gz this behavior can be seen, but it's fixed in the
next minutes to half an hour. Thank you for your time reporting this.
