Guys this is a real problem since Users Home directories are on
centralized storage, sometimes applications or compilations fail due to
quota limits. The enduser has no way of verifying prior to activity if
there is enough space.

/lib/libnss_ldap.so.2 is no longer supposed to exist since we introduced
multiarch (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MultiarchSpec). But /usr/lib/arm-
linux-gnueabihf/libnss_ldap.so should exist, and this is a known bug
(In other words, if something is looking for /lib/libnss_ldap.so.2, then
that is what contains the bug, not this package. What is looking for
/lib/libnss_ldap.so.2?)

Based on this I think it is clear that this is not a bug in puppet. Your
Windows servers should not be responding SERVFAIL to queries. They
should be responding with NOERROR and no answers. I think that bind is
probably doing the right thing accordi

I think the Problem is a bug because there is no ubuntu User on my
installation:

I stumbled accross the bug, when I tried to get ldap users via
getent passwd
which showed only the local users. A 'strace getent passwd' showed the missing
libnss_ldap.so.2. As on x86 systems this library is part of libnss-ldap, I
pressumed this bug is linked to it. getent itself is part of
libc
Just a thought: disabling IPv6 on the host running puppet may work -
given that your DNS servers don't support IPv6 anyway. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IPv6#Disabling_IPv6 - although I don't see
updated instructions for 12.04.

The fix seems to have worked. There is no /etc/init.d/nis and no error.

The logs in the nova-api.log indicate that he's getting permission
denied for an AMI he created. We recently migrated glance from sqlite3
to mysql, and this may be caused by a data migration error or a more
subtle keystone/glance uuid problem.

I also have this issue with a 12.04 server, also using replication. The
issue appears on the slave, not the master, but the master LDAP server
is still running 10.04, so I don't know if that is relevant or not.
