I again checked all the hostname configurations. Then I found out what it was.
ONLY on the machine running the kerberos master there were a linie in /etc/hosts
127.0.1.1 kerberos
---
On all the other machines there was

192.168.123.xxx hostname.example.
I'd definitely take a look at what hostname --fqdn returns on all the
machines.
