Note that this will cause an upgrade failure for any users who have
slapd installed and /bin/sh -> /bin/bash. Since this is a perfectly
valid configuration, this should probably be added to the 8.10 release
notes, with a recommendation that users temporarily change the default

The local statement is used in the main slapd.config script which is not
supported by bash. However dash, the default shell, doesn't complain.

Removing /etc/ldap allow installing the packages. Unfortunatly, it also
means that the configuration is not converted to the new ldif format.
Changing the configuration format in /etc/default is my current
workaround but it would be very useful to have more information on :
- how to "manually" mi
