Excellent, I was able to reproduce the problem with those directions. Naming a folder testshare in my home directory, then making a file named "test".txt (with quotes), then sharing the folder and viewing it under smb:///testshare showed the file as _W10J7~L.TXT instead. Since there is enough in

Steps to reproduce: 1) Create a folder on a local ext3 filesystem. 2) Share the folder using nautilus. 3) Create a new file in the folder, and insert a quotation mark into its name. 4) Find your shared folder through Places->Network. The displayed filename is incorrect. Basically, the trick is to

I am unable to reproduce this bug since I cannot get a file to be named with quotation marks in them. Since it is invalid to supply names with quotation marks, there may not be much that can be done. Can you please show us an example, either through a screenshot or copy/paste from terminal with a
