This is fixed in 1.1.0-2 version in Xenial (16.04). It seems to work
fine to install that xenial version into 15.10.
wget
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+files/irqbalance_1.1.0-2_armhf.deb
sudo dpkg -i irqbalance_1.1.0-2_armhf.deb
After 3 days it is only using 1.2 MB.

if i do
sudo mkdir /var/spool/postfix//etc/ssl/
then the installation completes, but i am not sure if that is just a bad
workaround.

i am running a maverick image using using it for a while the VM locks up
(host is lucid). i was running klondike when it locked. the following is
in the terminal that launched it
s...@oberon:~$ testdrive

so with the above command it will crash with 256 or 512.
but with a minimal build ( rootstock --fqdn beagleboard --login ubuntu
--password temppwd --imagesize 2G --dist lucid --script fixup.sh
--serial ttyS2 --kernel-image http://rcn-

image-2.6.
i think i have found trigger. i had increased the memory option in
QEMUOPTS to 512. if i set it back to 256 it completes successfully.
i think i crashes before i increases it, so maybe there is more to it
that this.

i tried putting a 'set -e' in the script that goes to
