Could it be that this is cause by conflict between System V and upstart?

after launching update-manager, samba-common failed with statuscode 1--
all further dependencies failed to install.
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade showed the same behaviour.

Also, changing the disk type from IDE to RH's Virtio SCSI in WInXP
didn't change anything either. The guest just sits there chewing up CPU,
and the blue-bar-animation runs from side to side.

Apparmor doesn't seem to be the culprit for me. virt-manager show me the
dynamic allocation of an UUID when starting the guest and I have no
errors in syslog regarding apparmor.

I'm beginning to get a sick feeling when reporting bugs.
I've been reporting bugs for 2 years now, and none of the reported
issues have been implemented/fixed. Some have even been ignored
(evolution-bugzilla).
Every morning, for 2 years I have to double-click on a rpl script to
remove the commas
My apologies for the late reply! I have since upgraded to ubunto 10.04,
and have not seen the problem again. Samba is working. Let me know if

Reverted change.
Apparently stuff linked against the 5.1 client lib can not work with a
5.0 server, leading to akonadi crashes as described in another bug
report. As I see it the only solution to this would be making the 5.0
and 5.1 servers installable at the same time. There is certainly nothing

I cannot trigger when the error occurs, so my logfile is already too old
(time stamp), when I get the mail. It happens probably while the windows
machine writes to the samba server.
I couldn't find anything suspect in the logfile for the Windows-machine.
