Public bug reported:
The sample json files provided in etc/metadefs/ are not installed in the
.deb, making it more difficult to import these files using "glance-
manage db_load_metadefs".
This command could be called in postinst to automatically load the
metadata definition.

Your initial command works perfectly for me. The use of double quotes is
valid (although useless in this case), and they are interpreted by the
shell as expected.
You might have encounter an other problem at some point.
Feel free to reopen the bug if I missed something.

Unfortunately I didn't find time to backport the fixes to icehouse, and
I'm not sure it's worth it now that Juno is out.

I investigated a bit more, in fact this is a doc bug. The signing_dir in
our proxy-server.conf sample is not properly defined. It shouldn't be in
/home. We could remove this config, the default is fine.
Sorry about the noise...

So the home dir problem is really happening... I think it's a packaging
problem, and not a doc problem. But we should probably document the
workaround keshava suggested.
Thanks!

As for keystone and ceilometer, it would be nice to have a default

Public bug reported:
I'm trying to set up cinder+ceilometer on precise using the cloud-
archive packages. The cinder notifications don't seem to be received by
ceilometer.
I rebuilt the package from source, and it started working. I have no
idea why this is, but at least it works...
