Correction: the problem returns when the interface is *defined* in
/etc/network/interfaces like this:
iface eth0:1 inet static
address 192.168.1.1

I thought this was resolved with some update, since it started working
some weeks ago. But from these comments I understand that it isn't. :-)
I remembered that I used to have an eth0:1 interface and just tried it
again. The problem returns when the interface eth0:1 is up.
The ifconfig -a output
Workaround: comment the offending legacy parameter and restart the
service

Hi, I installed a maverick UEC. I have 1 system with clc,cc,sc,walrus
and another with nc. when attach a volume to a running instance no
error is show but a can't see the second disk with fdisk -l. I verify

Looking at "/etc/cron.d/awstats" I can see that awstats runs as "www-data":

I just installed the latest 10.04 (including updates) and the same
problem happened to me.
In case someone might find this information useful,
this is how I fixed it:
In file "/etc/init/smbd.conf"
change this:
start on local-filesystems
into this:
start on (local-filesystems and net-devic
