Dovecot now starts and is working.
but since I got that error/warning
"update-rc.d: warning: multiuser is deprecated; specify runlevels manually"
maybe someone should take a look at it!
# dovecot --version
1.1.2

got chmod: cannot access `/var/run/dovecot/login': No such file or
directory
created that too
