I received a reply from a developer on the upstream project. This switch
is omitted by design.
According to Thorsten Kukuk, Project Manager/Release Manager SLES SUSE
LINUX it's...
"Because you should not use it. It does more harm and creates more problems
then it is useful."

The man page for ypbind does not include any information about the -p
switch. This switch specifies a port number for ypbind to accept
connections on. Running `ypbind --help` returns the following:
