I came across this with managing openvpn keys on ubuntu 15.10.
The pkitool in my CA folder was from an older version of ubuntu
(probably 14.04) so tried updating it to the latest that came with
15.10. It didn't help but Yuriy's fix worked for me.

As of today the vhost_user sockets created by openvswitch have root:root file

In fact creation is actually done by code the DPDK lib, but the path is passed
to it from openvswitch.

multipath-tools (0.4.9) I can not see this misbehaviour.
